Cheers to a New Year and New Adventures: Moscow Mule

This is my first post and it’s a new year, so how about a toast with a unique but easy cocktail? A Moscow Mule may sound fancy using ginger beer and served in a copper mug. But my updated version uses ginger ale and I serve it with a squeeze of lime.

Moscow Mule

Moscow Mule
* 4 ice cubes
2 ounces vodka, from freezer
6 ounces ginger ale
1 wedge of lime

  1. If you don't keep vodka in the freezer, pour vodka into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake so the vodka gets really cold
  2. Pour into a short glass, top with ginger ale
  3. Squeeze a wedge of lime over the glass
  4. Enjoy!
Notes:
* Signature Cocktail - for a dinner party, double, triple, quadruple this recipe
* Stiff Moscow Mule - for a stronger drink, play with the ratio of vodka and ginger ale
* Skinny Moscow Mule - for a lower calorie drink, substitute 5 ounces of the ginger ale with soda water and just add a splash of ginger ale

Here’s to 2013…working hard, playing harder…eating well, running faster…and whether in the kitchen or in a race, a Dash to Finish!
